Who would’ve thought that combining grainy natural disaster footage of Icelandic volcanic eruptions and melting ice sheets shot on mobile phones and posted on YouTube layered atop footage of poured paint would make the perfect visual accompaniment to the first single from Sydney producer Kilter’s debut EP Shades.
Those sublime visuals come courtesy of a collaboration with Melbourne artist Kate Shaw, who takes the concept of familiar landscapes, puts it down, flips it and reverses it to spectacular effect in the video for ‘They Say’. Set balls to trip.
