Politicians Release ‘Rage’ Mixtapes Ahead Of Election Special

The Deputy Leaders of the three major parties – Anthony “Albo-I-Once-Saw-Nirvana-At-BDO” Albanese, Julie Bishop and Adam Bandt – will be caressing groggy heads through this Saturday morning, taking to Australia’s hangover cure, Rage, in an election special.
Seeing politicians out of their natural habitat and donning their Pls, I’m Just A Casual Dude shirt of choice will be a curious sight indeed, as they pick and dissect their favourite song and video choices in typical Rage fashion (in between takes of that creepy, serial killer whisper of Raaaage emanating the aura of the entire show).
Ahead of the show broadcast at 10:30 am today, the three deputy leader’s mixtapes have been released. There’s the typical Midnight Oil nod from Albo, there’s the I Will Always Love You inclusion by Julie Bishop, in what must be a symbolic gesture to her steadfast loyalty to Tony Abbott; there’s Adam Bandt’s attempt at being the cool guy among Australian classics and lofty ballads with a final addition of No Cars Go by Arcade Fire. You’ll also note that Bishop and Albanese both have a taste for Hunters and Collectors; Bandt and Albanese both have a soft spot for The Go Betweens. Well now, see? These major parties aren’t so different after all. Can’t we all just be friends?*
