Pollies To Guest Program Rage Election Special

It’s hip to be square.

The ABC’s weekly late-night music video marathon rage has announced that three Australian MP’s will be guest programming the show in an Election Special on August 31.

In what could be construed as an attempt to commandeer the elusive “late night, didn’t pick up so went
home alone, and needed to something to focus on to avoid passing out
face-first into the leftover pizza” vote, DJ Anthony Albanese, MC Julie Bishop and Ad-roc Bandt, collectively known as the Australian House (of Representatives) Mafia, will take to the famous red couch to spin their favourite tunes.

rage told news.com.au that the Labour, Liberal and Greens deputy leaders will be programming “artists that will surprise a lot of the viewers… Between them there are some absolute classics and some very cool alternative choices too.”

Albanese tweeted a picture of himself (wearing his least daggy shirt) shortly after recording his portion of the special last Friday.

A post on the official rage Facebook page announcing the special has drawn hundreds of comments, ranging from massive distaste at the idea, to music suggestions like Rollins Band‘s ‘Liar’, TISM‘s ‘Never Mind The Bollocks, Here’s The House Of Representatives‘, and of course, anything by Midnight Oil.
