Deputy Prime Minister Talks About That One Time He Saw Nirvana At The Big Day Out

In a sneak peek at the latest desperate attempt to humanise politicians triple pronged attack federal election special of Australia’s traditional home of late night pizza parties and broadcasting morbid Aphex Twin film clips at the exact wrong time of night, rage, Deputy Prime Minister Anthony Albanese talks about that one time he saw the then-relatively-unknown Seattle band Nirvana play at the first ever Big Day Out in Sydney. As Albanese remembers – and as most men of a certain age are prone to saying – “it went off”.

SO many questions, Anthony. Did you inhale? Is that shirt from 1992 as well? What the fuck did people do with their hands before smartphones?

Albanese will be joined on the couch by fellow political party 2ICs in Deputy Leader of the Opposition Julie Bishop and Deputy Leader of the Greens Adam Bandt.

The election special airs August 31st.
