Pitchfork Rallies Music Blog Army For New Site

Influential music bloggers Pitchfork Media have announced they will soon be launching a sister site that will involve contributions from a ‘collective’ of music blogs. Pitchfork posted the news about ‘Altered Zones’ earlier today:

“Pitchfork is excited to announce the upcoming launch of Altered Zones, a new sister site that will focus on leftfield pop, experimental, and home-recorded sounds. In the last several years, there’s been an explosion of small-scale DIY music, and Altered Zones is dedicated to exploring these emerging musical worlds. Uniting an international team of bloggers whose individual sites have proven among the most consistently rewarding outposts for unique and leftfield music, this new site will highlight the most notable and adventurous new artists, serving as a focal point for the flood of creativity coming from deep within the music underground.”

The line up of contributing blogs include some better known sites like Gorilla vs. Bear, Get Off The Coast and Yours Truly; but one of the most exciting inclusions is Rose Quartz – a fantastic music blog focused on new, undiscovered tunes and bands – run by four dudes including some Australians. They are about to get a much-deserved heap of new readers. Kudos boys.

Altered Zones will launch on 7th July.
