Duplass Bros To Reteam With Jonah Hill On “Pitchfork”

Filmmaking brothers Mark and Jay Duplass are said to be re-teaming with likable chubbster Jonah Hill for a new movie called Pitchfork, a title partly inspired by the popular indie music blog of the same name.

The LA Times reports that Pitchfork is “a dramatic thriller about the middle-aged mother of an indie rocker who, after her son is killed in a car accident, seeks vengeance on an online blogger who had peddled snark about her son (on the music site Pitchfork, hence one of the title’s entendres). Things take a turn, though, when she finds out the snarker is just a teenager.”

Hill is tipped to play the smug blogger, while Susan Sarandon is rumoured to be the favourite for the role of vengeful mother.

Weird mother-son relationships and unusual acts of revenge were the themes explored in the Duplass brothers last movie Cyruss, the semi-disturbing and hugely enjoyable black comedy in which Hill featured as the titular Oedipal fruit of Marisa Tomei’s loins. If it is anything to go by, we’re guessing Pitchfork is going to be a good time.
