Featuring a MicroKorg, enough glitter to service Mardi Gras and a hirsute Michael Jackson, “Heads Will Roll” is the second video/single from the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s third studio album “It’s Blitz!”.
The video, directed by The Mighty Boosh’s Richard Ayoade features a suitably Booshian (or is that Booshesque?) protagonist in the form of the unlikely lovechild of Michael Jackson and a wolf. I don’t know what they’re trying to imply but if any celebrity were to dabble in beastiality Jackson, in three simple words, would present a strong case: Bubbles. The. Monkey.
The song itself is indicative of YYY’s 2.0 trading their eardrum destroying rawkus for emotionless bubblegum pop laden with lazy lyrics and a faux-hedonistic stomp. Yawn. Not sure about heads rolling but eyes certainly will at the newly impotent Yeah Yeah Yeahs, who could of thought it was even possible?
