MGMT Invite You To Play A Giant Cowbell Live On Stage With Them

MGMT has a fever. And the only prescription is more novelty sized cowbell.

Adding an endearing dimension of audience participation to their tour of North America last month, NYC psych rockers MGMT allowed time to pretend audience members were rockstars at each city they performed in by giving one strong-wristed individual with a rudimentary command of rhythm the chance to play along to “Your Life Is A Lie”, cowbell-rich second single from their newly released self-titled album, using an over-sized cowbell with the word “beware” emblazoned across it.

Now they’re giving us a similar gift – the FOMO-inducing chance to pretend you’re that one guy from The Rapture, hog all the attention and assume cowbell duties – when they perform the single live on stage this year as part of their three date tour of the country for the 2013 Falls Festival.

How do you win? According to a press release, “Boogie Nights is the first night of each Falls event and it’s a fancy dress affair, the theme this year is INTERGALACTIC. Falls will be holding a ‘Best Dressed’ competition on this opening festival celebration at the below times and locations and the winner in the will find themselves onstage in the main arena with MGMT! Go crazy and get creative, start working on your intergalactic fashion masterpieces now.”

What are you waiting for? Order the finest luminescent crescent moon fabric you can afford and make Christopher Walken proud to share oxygen with you.
