Madchester United: Joy Division’s Peter Hook To Support Happy Mondays On Australian Tour

This May, four Australian cities will be turned into miniature antipodean Madchesters with news that the classic permutation of the Happy Mondays lineup – Gary Whelan on drums, Mark Day on guitar, Paul Ryder on bass, Rowetta on backing vocals, Shaun Ryder on leads vocals and Bez on enthusiasm – will be joined by fellow favourite son of Manchester, founding Joy Division/New Order bassist and sometime fake disc jockey Peter Hook.

The band’s Melbourne performance will also be bolstered by cult Melbourne outfit Underground Lovers.

Limited tickets are still available.

Bring your marracas and rave whistles.
