At the inaugural ARTRAVE happening staged at the Brooklyn Navy Yard overnight, haute stratospheric pop star Lady Gaga unveiled three centrepieces celebrating the worldwide release of her third album, ARTPOP: the first being the live performance of the album itself; the second a larger-than-life realist sculpture crafted by Jeff Koons’ (Tisch interns) and the third being the reason you’re here, Volantis – a venture undertaken by the House of Gaga’s TechHaus subsidiary which is billed ostensibly as “the world’s first flying dress.” It’s pretty fantastic, unhinged stuff; cue applause.
