Janet Jackson has had a big day at the office.
On the same day she was honoured with the Icon Award at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards, becoming the first black woman recognised in the award’s seven-year history, the entertainer schooled each and every young gun in the audience on how to throw a pop concert.
The singer tore through a medley of hits, including 1986 Billboard chart topper Nasty, Throb, and If. It had classic choreography, a killer get-up, and that trademark Jackson attitude.

Jackson also used her spotlight to draw attention to the #MeToo movement. During her speech, Jackson said “it’s a moment that, at long last, women have made it clear that we will no longer be controlled, manipulated, or abused.
“I stand with those women and with those men equally outraged by discrimination, who support us in heart and mind.”
Legend.
