Kiwi-We-Like-To-Call-Aussie, Lorde, is currently in NYC ahead of the Governors Ball this weekend, where she’ll perform alongside Chance The Rapper, Flume, Childish Gambino, Phoenix and a bunch more.
She popped into a local cold-pressed juice bar, called Liquiteria, to pick up a smoothie and apparently hit it off with the cashier who served her – because she invited the starstruck fan to be her special guest to the festival, as a congratulations for scoring a new job.
Emely Paula Medina originally posted a video of her serving Lorde, saying she was “shook” to be in her presence.

But *then* she shared a screenshot of a private conversation they had via Twitter after Lorde slid into her DMs.
You can see her ask something along that ends with “come to the Governors Ball on me”, to which Emely replies, “No way – this is a joke right”.
Lorde, the total cutie, assured her she wasn’t messing around and that she was “going to ask you in the store if you wanted to come but I got shy”.

Irrelevant but notable aside: Lorde’s new single ‘Melodrama’ is out this Friday, and we have a sneaking suspicion she’ll debut it at the GB.
