Hear Lana Del Rey’s New Track ‘Shades Of Cool’

Over the weekend, Lana Del Rey serenaded Kimye and friends at the most important and relevant wedding of the decade, and was paid an insane sum of money for her trouble. Kanye West released a brand new track on the day, but Lana did the polite thing and waited until the festivities were over to unveil her new track, ‘Shades Of Cool’.

‘Shades Of Cool’ is the third song from Lana’s eagerly-awaited, Dan Auerbach-produced Ultraviolence, and on first listen, we’re actually really digging it. It has a sort of pleasantly debauched Bond theme sound, and some nice, dirty guitars near the end, sounding very different from the string-based tracks on Born To Die, while retaining that certain something Lana does so well.
Ultraviolence is out June 13 on Polydor/Interscope, at which point the not-at-all played out discussion about Lana Del Rey and authenticity can recommence in earnest.
