The GZA has created a documentary about the Wu-Tang Clan that’s been 10 years in the making. Watching the trailer reminded me of bumping into school teachers at the shops or on holidays: there is something creepy about seeing them in street wear and hanging with their partners in a non learning context. Similarly, seeing the Ghostface Killah and Inspectah Deck hanging out eating toast just doesn’t sit well; nevertheless, if the trailer is any indication the doco is going to feature a lot of never-before-seen Wu-Tang home videos – and it’s pretty sweet watching vintage footage of the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard spitting “just go by the motherfucking record motherfucker” straight at the camera on the close.
It’s Wu motherfuckers.
