Wu-Tang Clan Set To Auction Single And Only Copy Of ‘Secret’ Album

Back in the spotlight once again is the Wu-Tang Clan‘s secretive album ‘The Wu – Once Upon A Time In Shaolin’, a concept and potentially final album from Wu-Tang, so secretive that only a single copy has been pressed. It’s the music industry’s version of the Gummi Venus De Milo, and it’s going to be up for auction.

Forbes reports that RZA announced that the online auction house Paddle8 has been selected to auction off the album. The move has been seen as an attempt to undermine the music industry devaluation model of selling – artists struggling to make money from song and album sales – by classifying the work as “art” rather than an album, therefore sky rocketing the price tag massively.

Much like the literally useless, $10,000 “luxury” app that wealthy bros bought to brag about, fans or collectors will pay big for the 31 track, double album – RZA reportedly said offers of $5 million were received upon the announcement of the album. There’s no word of when this will be going down – although the band will be dropping more details this month, according to Forbes.

Hanging out for the cashed up buyer to spring a cheeky leak.
