Appearing on the 39th season of my favourite childhood program of all-time (Sesame Street) Canada’s Feist sees the song that launched her into the indie stratosphere re-jigged to be about, err, counting?
Feist’s appearance on Sesame Street is testament to the near ubiquity of this little ditty which first ensnared yuppies everywhere in a particularly annoying too-quaint-for-its-own-good Ipod Nano advertisement. With the video below, the offspring of said yuppies’ can also be exposed to the universal catchiness of this tune, which instead of imploring you to “BUY AN IPOD, BUY AN IPOD”, simply teaches them to count. To four. Over and over again.
On a side note Feist is in no position to be teaching kids to count with her “5, 6, 9 and 10” being just plain erroneous…
