Having your song in an iPod commercial can be an amazing marketing tool (Exhibit A: Feist and “1, 2, 3, 4” for iPod Shuffle), but they seem to go one step further with this ad suggesting that maybe there’s something going on between Apple and :
Don’t you appreciate how Apple have no qualms about swooping (screw subtlety!) right into their demographic-of-choice? Showing “Veckatiment” by Grizzly Bear and Neon Indian’s “Psychic Chasms” on the narrator’s iPhone means that iPhone’s are obviously ideal for indie hipsters with a rangy taste in bands that rank super highly on MetaCritic.

From one technology-associated project to the next, Deschanel is being touted as the actress to play Ada Lovelace, the daughter of Lord Byron and mathematical genius who created the first computer program in the days of yore. Bruce Beresford is on board to direct the 19th century period drama which really sounds weird.
