The Hype Machine has spoken and SAFIA have come out on top.
Over the past year the Canberranese (?) duo consisting on Ben Woolner, Michael Bell and Harry Sayers have gone from tours with Lorde, electric Splendour and BIGSOUND performances to being nominated for awards every which way. And now the new video for ‘You Are The One’ has dropped and, to quote an early fan, “It’s bloody beautiful in all it’s apocalyptic awesomeness.”
Director Jimmy Ennett said of the video – which was filmed in one single shot, with no edits and features cameo appearances from the band as well as their BFFE’s Citizen Kay and Yeo – “I really wanted to do the theme justice without going deep into cliche or the easy route… The end of the world seemed like a good place to start, and it meant we could also stretch creatively and cinematically to create a piece that has a complete symbiotic relationship with this amazing song.”
