Ed Sheeran and Cherry Seaborn met years ago when they attended Thomas Mills High School in Framlingham, Suffolk. Framlingham is a real place and not somewhere I made up to make fun of the English.
Though it’s been widely reported and suggested in interviews that Ed had a huge crush on Cherry back in high school, they didn’t actually start dating until 2015 – presumably after Ed had an existential crisis over a not insignificant portion of the world’s female population being attracted to him.
He’s spoken in the past about his desire to settle down. In an interview with Clash he was particularly explicit about it.
I always thought to have a really good career, you always had to be incredibly unhappy, and I always thought to be really happy, you had to have a bad career, because I didn’t see the balance of the two. And I’ve realised that that’s obviously bullshit, and just what you tell yourself to justify it. I live with Cherry now. We’ve got cats, we have takeaways and watch movies, we have people round for dinner. I’ve never had that.
