Dolly Parton & Goddaughter Miley Cyrus Belted Out ‘Jolene’ At The Grammys

Look, I’ll be honest with you, folks, country music is not at all my jam. In fact, it’s probably my least favourite genre of all, but within every genre, there are certain songs which simply must be respected. Dolly Paton‘s Jolene is one of those songs, and at The Grammys today, she sang the hell outta that shit with her goddaughter, Miley Cyrus.

Dolly was named the MusiCares Person of the Year for 2019 for both her music and philanthropic work, receiving a full-blown tribute at the ceremony with all of her favourite people, including Katy Perry. But the fire really got going when her goddaughter, the one and only Miley Cyrus, appeared for a duet with Dolly, getting the Grammys crowd singing and dancing along, including Korean superstars, BTS.

You can have a look at a clip from the show below.

The duo is known for busting out a bit of Jolene from time to time, so this certainly wasn’t their first rodeo, but I’d wager just about everyone was stoked regardless. They sang the popular tune in 2016 on The Voice with Pentonix, as well as during the 25th-anniversary celebration of Dollywood.

Whether you’re into country or not, there’s no denying what a stellar performance that was.
