Miley Ray Cyrus is officially Miley Ray Hemsworth, her husband Liam Hemsworth shared during an appearance on Live With Kelly and Ryan.
The two tied the knot back in December in an intimate ceremony that made their fans collectively ‘aw’ for a hot second. The couple would share a few shots of the wedding in the following days, revealing Cyrus’ beautiful Vivienne Westwood dress.
“I heard you got married…to one of my favourite people, Miley Cyrus,” co-host Kelly Ripa said to Hemsworth on the show.
“Miley Ray Hemsworth now, actually,” the actor replied before sharing it was actually Cyrus’ idea to take his name.
“She will still be known as Miley Cyrus but she took my name, which is great. I think that was one of the best things about it,” he continued. “I didn’t ask her to take my name and she was like ‘No, of course I’m taking your name.’”
Hemsworth shared the couple had never wanted a big wedding, hence the intimate ceremony.
“We just wanted to do something simple, organic and just basically immediate family. It was a really nice day,” he told the hosts.
But wait for it – while discussing married life, Hemsworth shared these sweet words:
“It’s become a little bit more normal but the first couple of weeks – It’s only been a month and a half or something – but the first couple of weeks was really fun to be wife and husband,” Hemsworth said. “I just have her in as ‘wife’ in my phone now.”
You can catch Hemsworth in his forthcoming romantic comedy flick Isn’t It Romantic when it hits cinemas on February 13, right in time for Valentine’s Day. Alternatively, you could also wait two weeks for the film to land on Netflix come February 28.
Isn’t it Romantic tells the tale of New York architect Natalie (Rebel Wilson) who finds herself trapped in an actual romantic comedy and she’s the leading lady. Adam Devine, Priyanka Chopra, and Tom Ellis co-star.
