Dizzee Rascal’s transition from the ignored boy in da corner to an MC of bonkers ubiquity has been surprisingly organic. Unlike his trans-Atlantic contemporaries (cough Mr. West cough cough) Dizzee has an everyman appeal that stems, on the surface at least, from his bro persona, goofy smile and slacker gaming references.
So when we hear news that Dizzee is releasing signature footwear – a Nike Air Max 90 ‘Tongue N’ Cheek’ sneaker in conjunction with Nike Design and long-time collaborator and creative director Ben Drury – we kinda feel happy for the guy instead of mildly angered and jealous.
