Details of Victim’s Last Night Emerge in Tinder Murder Case

28-year-old Gold Coast man Gable Tostee has been charged with the murder of Warriena Wright, following the New Zealand woman’s balcony plunge. This morning, The Sunday Mail have revealed details of the case against Tostee, including the fact that police have allegedly uncovered audio recordings of Wright’s final moments.

Tostee was charged with murder this past Friday, and it has been revealed that three mobile phones, found in a car in the basement of his building, were the breakthrough that led to his arrest. Forensic experts have extracted recordings from the phones, allegedly proving that Wright was “in fear for her life” during the final moments before her fall.
It is alleged that Tostee and Wright met on the Cavill Mall at around 9pm on Friday August 7, after connecting on Tinder. Witnesses say that they later heard screams coming from Tostee’s Avalon Building apartment, and police will allege that Wright was attempting to escape from Tostee’s apartment by climbing to another balcony when she fell.
CCTV footage from Tostee’s building allegedly shows him “pacing backwards and forwards” in the foyer of the Avalon, carrying a mobile phone, as police surround Wright’s body. It is then alleged that he rode an elevator to the basement – where police later discovered the three phones in question – before leaving the building.
Tostee was arrested at his parents’ Gold Goast house on Friday morning. The Sunday Mail report that “High Court findings in other cases of people fleeing in fear and dying” are of key importance in the case.
