28 year old Gold Coast man Gable Tostee has today been arrested and charged with murder following the death of 26 year old New Zealand tourist Warriena Wright last Friday.
Ms Wright (pictured below) – known as “Rrie” to her friends – fell to her death from the 14th floor balcony of Tostee’s apartment in the early hours of Friday morning, after the pair had met through Tinder.
Mr Tostee had protested his innocence on the Bodybuilding.com forum in a posting that read:
“I’ve been advised not to go into details but all I will say is that I absolutely did NOT cause this girl to fall and that I am devastated about what happened to her.“
According to the Courier Mail, Tostee also boasted about setting up motion-detecting cameras and recording phone conversations in order to document and keep track of his sexual conquests. He also boasted of using a drone and a telescope to watch neighbours and passers-by.
Tostee’s lawyer and the Gold Coast acting chief superintendent both confirmed the murder charge.
Warriena Wright had arrived in Queensland on July 29th for a short holiday coinciding with a friend’s wedding.
