Delta Goodrem And Gurrumul To Perform Duet On ‘The Voice’

Tonight’s second live final of The Voice will see Delta Goodrem perform a duet with Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.
They’ll be singing Bayini, Gurrumul’s original track normally featuring Sarah Blasko – whose part will be voiced by Delta.

The performance coincides with Reconciliation Week (May 27- June 3) and the broadcast will raise awareness across an audience of some two million people.

Born blind, Gurrumul grew up off the coast of tropical North East Arnhem Land, a region of The Northern Territory. The ARIA Award-winning indigenous singer is an attractive affiliation for Delta because she favours blind people has a high tenor, with many of his songs exploring the notions of identity, spirit and connection with the land. Delta will be singing a line in Gurrumul’s native language.
