Coldplay Kept Rolling Out The Surprises Last Night By Bringing Out Kylie Minogue

It’s been a big week for Australian fans of Coldplay. In town to promote their new album, the British group has already managed to shoot a film clip in Newtownwhich has already been released. And then at their one-and-only public Australian show this visit in the relatively intimate surrounds of the Enmore Theatre, Coldplay rolled out one more surprise for their audience.

After talking about the fact that they’ll be guest performers on The Voice, they brought out Voice judge – and Aussie bloody icon – Kylie Minogue for a special performance at the end of their set. Together, the Kylie and the band belted out renditions of two of Kylie’s biggest hits – her smash hit single Can’t Get You Out Of My Head, and the brooding duet Where The Wild Roses Grow originally performed with Nick Cave. Coldplay frontman Chris Martin stepped into the shoes of Cave for the evening.
The special second encore was not broadcast on the Southern Cross Austereo radio network, unlike the rest of the set. Fortunately for you, they have the internet on computers now. And people managed to take footage of the encore via their smartphones, which is now beginning to surface for your Friday viewing pleasure.

For those playing along at home, Coldplay’s full setlist from the show was as follows:
Always in my Head
Charlie Brown
Paradise
Magic
Clocks
God Put a Smile Upon Your Face
Til Kingdom Come
Ink
True Love
Viva La Vida
Every Teardrop is a Waterfall
——————————————–
Oceans
A Sky Full of Stars

Where the Wild Roses Grow
Can’t Get You Out of My Head

Apart from their appearance on The Voice, Coldplay will also be recording a MAX Sessions episode for Foxtel‘s MusicMax.
Their new album, Ghost Stories, is out now.
