Chris Brown’s AUS/NZ Tour Officially Canned After Visa Denial Sticks

After months of will-it or won’t-it, Chris Brown‘s tour promoters have officially confirmed his December tour of Australia and New Zealand WON’T be going ahead.

A statement released by Ticketek doesn’t offer up any reason, but it’s no doubt due to the Federal Government‘s decision to deny the 26-year-old’s visa on “character grounds” because of his domestic violence past.
Brown’s visa application was denied back in September, but tickets have remained on sale as promoters tried desperately to turn things ’round.
Even as the statement about the tour cancellation was put out, hope for a future visit was expressed.

“Mr Brown and the promoters both remain positive that the tour will take place in the near future,” it read. “Mr Brown wishes to express his deepest gratitude to the fans for their support and looks forward to a successful tour in the near future.”
