Chic And The Melvins Headline First Round Meredith Lineup

Ahhhh, freak out. The first group of acts performing at this year’s Meredith Music Festival have been announced.

Leading the charge is the welcome return of Chic lead by recent Daft Punk collaborator Nile Rodgers who allegedly stepped off the stage at the Meredith affiliated Golden Plains Festival in 2011 and said, “every show is special but that was ‘spiritual’”. He’ll be glad to be getting supernatural at the amphitheatre again.

The Melvins, stylistically opposed but no less influential, are the second act announced and will embark on their first trip to Australia since playing at Soundwave two years ago.

The full lineup of artists will be revealed shortly but in the meantime punters can now enter the ticket ballot which will draw twice across August. First for existing subscribers August 15 then for newer ones August 22. There is only one ticket available: three days and two nights, including camping and
parking for $309 + $10 booking. Ballot and Online tickets via
Registered Post are an additional $7.

As always, organisers are adamant about their principles of partying which includes one stage to rule them all, BYO, no commercial sponsors and no dickheads.
