A few weeks ago we gushed about Staten Island’s PS22 choir – a racially diverse children’s choir who, with raw talent and heart on your sleeve earnestness, managed to transform a capella covers of popular songs from the cringiest shit you can do on Youtube to a thing of beauty. Watch it if you haven’t already because their talent is matched only by their cuteness.
Similarly in the strain of Youtube video marked “a capella covers that don’t make us cringe” today we give you Girl Crisis – an all-female choir from Brooklyn made up of members from Chairlift, Apache Beat, Au Revoir Simone and Class Actress. They’re cute as well, but in a different way. Below is the latest offering, a haunting rendition of Nirvana’s “Come As You Are” all shot on Super 8 by Bek Andersen. Enjoy.
