Biebs Explains He Cancelled Tour ‘Cos He Wants His Soul To Be “Sustainable”

The Biebs dropped a full explanation for his abrupt ‘Purpose‘ tour cancellation on Instagram earlier today, by taking a picture of a document on his screen, created yesterday at 4.48pm LA time.

It actually kinda reads like a heartfelt apology for his past bad behaviour. There’s a lot of “grateful“s and a full acknowledgement of his wrongdoing, all while talking about how much the tour has taught him about himself, and how he intends to grow and learn from his mistakes.

Which brings us to the crux of the matter – why Justin Bieber left a bunch of his fans in Asia and North America in the lurch:

Me taking this time right now is me saying I want to be SUSTAINABLE. I want my career to be sustainable, I want my mind heart and soul to be sustainable. So that I can be the man I want to be, the husband I eventually want to be and the father I want to be.

The tour was cancelled on July 24, with a statement saying Bieber “loves his fans and hates to disappoint them,” but little clarity. In a video obtained by TMZ, he said he was tired, a simple and pretty reasonable explanation considering he’s been on the road now for about two years.

Sure, the simple explanation is usually the correct one, but that didn’t stop people like Richard Wilkins from speculating that Bieber is going to be starting his own church. Which left John Mayer of all people to be the voice of reason:

The Biebs is obviously on a “journey“, a journey that the 23-year-old has decided will one day lead to a wife and kids. Sounds nice? I guess?

Tbh it’s probably good the lad knows what he wants and needs. Many of us really struggle to take time out even when we need it, or to make huge life choices like what we want for dinner. Power to him. Still a bummer for his fans though.
