Most rap beefs are a function of narcissism (and can potentially lead to death!) but we tolerate them anyway because, well, “Ether”. Nothing as revelatory here on this newie by Harlem MC Azealia Banks, who continues her feud with Aussie MC/floral namesake Iggy Azalea with a combative diss track which recently debuted at the Chanel pop-up store after-party in Tokyo. Stretched over a militaristic Diplo beat, ‘Fuck Up the Fun’ targets her caucasian nemesis with disses like “Ya’ll bitches still on MySpace and YouTube trying to get ya’ll little video views up to a million…Ya’ll bitches not fucking with me.”
Curiously, at the centre of it all is Diplo who recently produced tracks for both Iggy and fellow Banks nemesis Kreayshawn. Maybe he can do us all a favour and mediate peace talks because A) This is so clearly born of insecurity and B) They should be collaborating and C) This is one of the most pointless rap beefs we’ve seen since Ice T accused Soulja Boy of “killing hip hop”.
Track’s alright though.
