“Crying Lighting”, the first single from Arctic Monkeys’ third studio album “Humbug” sees Alex Turner spout Paul Banks like non-sequiturs about aggravating ice cream men on rainy afternoons while exploring the psychedelic end of the rock spectrum and avoiding hairdressers.
If this surging slice of psychedelia is any indication of what Humbug holds in store, we can expect less boy-meets-girl odes to young love and more smoking peyote in the desert. A logical outcome considering Queens Of The Stone Age frontman Josh Homme produced the track. Here’s hoping a Kyuss-style chugger find its way on the new album.
