Amy Shark & Courtney Barnett Dominate The 2018 ARIA Award Nominations

It’s a bloody good year for Amy Shark and Courtney Barnett, we tell you. The duo have featured heavily throughout the 2018 ARIA Award nominations, which were announced a short time ago in Sydney.

Gold Coast singer Amy Shark leads all comers with a total of 9 nominations overall, including nods for the coveted Album and Song of the Year awards for her debut album Love Monster and single I Said Hi respectively.

Barnett follows close behind with a total of 8 nominations for her solo album Tell Me How You Really Feel. The Melbourne-based singer scored an additional nomination for Lotta See Lice, her collaboration album with Kurt Vile.

Elsewhere the Best Rock Album category is full of fresh faces, with Luca BrasiCamp Cope, and Middle Kids scoring nominations, heralding in a new generation of artists for the genre.

Alex LaheyJack RiverOdetteRuel, and Mojo Juju all scored nominations in the coveted Breakthrough Artist category. Meanwhile the curious International Artist stakes feature the likes of Ed SheeranEminemP!nk, and Post Malone.

The 2018 ARIA Awards are set to be handed out on Wednesday, November 28th in Sydney, with the event being hosted by Keith Urban.
