Adele has already had a golden year, but she’s wrapping it up early so she can fix her pipes.
The Rolling In The Deep songstress is now someone that the entire world wants a piece of. She sat at the top of the charts for as long as The Beatles this year and continues to reign across the globe, but a relentless schedule has resulted in a vocal chord haemorrhage, one which already forced her to cancel a string of US dates and now the rest of her appearances for 2011. If untreated, such a condition may permanently damage her voice or render her unable to sing at all. Ouch.
Adele explained the long history of her voice problems in a blog to her fans:
I know its not only disappointing because of the show, but it’s plane tickets, hotel bookings, birthdays, anniversaries and time wasted. But please have faith in me that this is the only thing I can do to make sure I can always sing and always make music for you to the best of my ability. Truly yours and yours only forever, Adele x
