Due to a premature poster erector who is deeply ashamed and swears this has never happened before, Big Day Out organisers have been forced to rush out this year’s dates and venues announcement, revealing the dates (but not all of the venues) for next year’s engagement.
The most important takeaway from the schedule is a string of consecutive shows in Sydney, including its traditional game of try not to pass out from heat exhaustion on Australia Day, which was last year held in Melbourne. Elsewhere, Big Day Out Auckland gets its first run on the grounds of Western Springs and Gold Coast will get its first look at Gary Ablett Jr Stadium Metricon Stadium. Due to the rush, the venues for Sydney, Perth, Melbourne, and Adelaide have yet to be announced but sources close to the festival confirm that they will be both big and outside.
