Being at the head of a fitness empire that has amassed a following of millions from all over the world, you would think Kayla Itsines (pronounced kind of like ‘it’s seen us’) would be used to having strangers turn to their friends in shock upon seeing her, mouthing ‘that was Kayla Itsines!!!!‘
Throughout the course of filming the above video, there was much peripheral pointing, low key squealing and many wide-eyed fans excited about seeing their #Fitspo IRL. For Kayla’s part, though, when this was pointed out, she seemed genuinely surprised that people might be jazzed by her being in the vicinity.
The comparison between Kayla’s popularity and that of beloved (by fans) boy band, One Direction – which she rebuffed – is not made lightly but, rather, came about after seeing footage from her Bootcamp world tour and witnessing the en masse fitnessing.
It was this, among other judging criteria, that saw her win big at our 2015 Blogster Awards. Meanwhile, her own personal brand of Bikini Body Guides and newly released app, ‘Sweat with Kayla‘, has seen her #FitStar continue to rise.
