A Classic ‘Star Wars’ Game Is Being Eyed By Lucasfilm For A Movie Or Series

Knights of the Old Republic might be getting some more content according to Lucasfilm president, Kathleen Kennedy. It won’t be a new game, but it’ll be… well, something.

For those who aren’t familiar, KOTOR is as an RPG series made by Bioware. It’s set thousands of years before the films and by all accounts, including mine, it kicks ass. While Kennedy makes it very clear that nothing is set in stone just yet, it would certainly be cool to see a Star Wars flick set well outside of the Skywalker saga, which is drawing to a close.

Of course, Lucasfilm is also aware of pacing when it comes to Star Wars releases, so that’s another factor which will no doubt play into the development of KOTOR content if it does end up happening.

“Right now I have no idea where things fall but we have to be careful that there is a cadence to Star Wars that doesn’t start to feel like too much,” Kennedy said in an interview with MTV News.

You can suss the whole clip in the tweet here if you’re keen.

There’s no indication that the idea is even greenlit at this stage, but Kennedy does say they are “developing something to look at”. It’s also worth noting that the next ten years of Star Wars films are currently being planned out by Game of Thrones showrunners, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, as well as Rian Johnson, so who knows where the KOTOR IP will fall into place. That being said, it could also end up as something on the Disney Plus platform, so I guess we’ll wait and see.

Either way, I look forward to whatever they have on the way.
