Betcha never thought you’d be stoked to watch the world come to an end but here we are via American Horror Story: Apocalypse and welcoming us to the witching hour is Murder House and Coven favourite Taissa Farmiga.
The actress who portrayed Violet in the show’s first season and Zoe in the show’s third season reprises her iconic role in the highly anticipated eighth season.
I had the ~supreme~ honour of chatting to the Coven Council Member about what to expect from Apocalypse and while she wasn’t able to unveil too much, she did drop a few sneaky hints.
*takes a shot of absinthe*
“Everything’s super top secret and as soon as you asked me that question I started sweating ‘coz I feel like Ryan Murphy‘s looking over my shoulder saying ‘shh, be quiet’,” she says with a chuckle.
“I think the only thing I can really tease is that you’re going to see a lot of familiar faces that you’re going to be excited to see and some you may not even expect.”
Now, this interview went down after the cast had been announced so this very well could mean that there are *more* surprises to come. My fingers and toes are crossed for Fiona Goode and/or Marie Laveau, tbh.

I then asked Taissa how she reacted when she first read the script and she told me that she didn’t receive the first few eps which leads me to think that perhaps the witches won’t be introduced until a little after the world implodes.
“I didn’t get the first couple of episodes of the season so I went into it almost like a fan, kind of not knowing what to expect because if you don’t really read the first few scripts, you don’t know what’s going on,” she said.
“But I guess my first reaction was just nostalgia, that feeling of ‘oh my gosh, this is Coven, this is what we did when we were in New Orleans five years ago’ and I was super excited to get back in my witch hat, get back in our lovely black clothing and go be a witch.”

Lastly, I just HAD TO probe her about Stevie Nicks who we 3000% know is starring in the series via that viral Coven reunion photo ‘coz no further light has been shed on how her shawl-twirling self will be weaved into the apocalypse.
“It’s been phenomenal [working with Stevie],” she tells me. “We actually just filmed that scene two days ago and it’s such a crazy experience working with someone who people really love and adore and you go on set and you can even feel that energy through the crew. Of course they’re responsible, very respectful, you can just tell there’s this giddiness on set, everyone’s so excited and you can feel that energy and then you meet Stevie and she’s the sweetest thing and she’s so pumped and down to do anything you need.”
