Steven Knight‘s BAFTA-winning Peaky Blinders has gifted us our first look at one of the fresh new faces in it’s upcoming fifth season.

Sam Claflin, known for his roles in Me Before You, The Hunger Games series, Adrift, and Love, Rosie, joined the cast of season five back in October alongside Split star Anya-Taylor Joy, and Brian Gleeson.

Upon joining the cast Claflin said he “couldn’t feel more privileged to be invited to join this iconic show.”

Claflin joins familiar faces Cillian Murphy, Helen McCrory, Paul Anderson, Sophie Rundle, Finn Cole, and Natasha O’Keeffe to name a few.

Suit UP.

Not bad, not bad at all.

Fans seem to really appreciate the actor’s new look, too.

Back in season four, the Shelby clan went up against Italian-American mob boss Luca Changretta, played by Adrien Brody because what is a period drama without the Academy Award-winner?

Season five will pick up just as the world is thrown into turmoil by the financial crisis of 1929.

Per the BBC, the official synopsis reads:

Opportunity and misfortune are everywhere. When Tommy Shelby MP is approached by a charismatic politician with a bold vision for Britain, he realises that his response will affect not just his family’s future but that of the entire nation.

Claflin is set to star as the aforementioned pollie, according to Deadline.

Peaky Blinders season five is expected to return to BBC One in 2019.

Until then you can catch seasons one to three on Netflix. Hopefully, they’ll add season four in the near future.
