Last night’s Bachelor In Paradise delivered the biggest shock of the season, and no, it wasn’t international intruders Grant and Daniel swaggering in like two oversexed haircuts.
It was the sweet, endearing, utterly confusing love story of Sam and Tara. It’s has been playing out largely in the background thus far, but was front and centre last night, ending in a sweet, “oh shit we’re really doing this” first kiss.
Let’s back this up a bit. When we first met Sam, it was on Sophie Monk‘s season, and despite a strong start things ended a bit off. When we first met Tara, she was losing her mind of Matty J‘s (certifiably good) ass, and we all lost our goddamn minds when he cut her in the top three.
At the start of Bachelor In Paradise, Sam appeared to be hitting things off with Keira, and Tara was keen on Michael. But when Keira chose Michael for a date, Tara and Sam spent the day getting boozed up together instead – and the rest is a slightly bogan history.
“I guess I pre-judged Sam coming into Paradise,” said Tara. “He’s so nice. We can have banter, but he’s still so respectful.” (Side note: how nice is it to hear one of the bloke’s being described as “respectful” when you literally have Canadian Daniel saying shit like “I’m going to take all your women”?)
“I’m going to make you the most beautiful cocktail, because you are the most beautiful girl on this island,” Sam told her, which is SUPER CHEESY BUT SHE LOVED IT ANYWAY. THESE TWO ARE PERFECT FOR EACH OTHER.
It’s put us all in the really weird position of suddenly, unexpectedly, but totally shipping these two lovebirds.
