Here’s a sentence I was never expecting to write: the first trailer for the Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Zac Efron-led ‘Baywatch‘ trailer is here, and it actually looks… good?
You’ve got the iconic red swimsuits, overzealous use of explosions, situations that would literally never happen on a beach (and as the country for whom lifeguards are a part of the cultural fabric, Australia is pretty much an authority on this matter), and Efron looking more ripped than anyone ever has outside of a body building competition.
It’s also self-aware as hell, which is exactly what you want out of a film reboot of a critically bad but publicly loved 90s TV show.
This thing also stars Alexandra Daddario, Priyanka Chopra (in her Hollywood debut), Kelly Rohrbach and Jon Bass, which is another way of saying “three extremely attractive women, and Jon Bass.”
