I totally get those people who don’t have televisions because they have so many other cool urban things to do, like make watercolour paintings and read Penguin classics and have interesting conversations. But I am not one of those people. I love me a night on the couch hanging with the classics (Twin Peaks – The Definitive Gold Box Edition), tuning in to my latest televisual love interest (Angry Boys) and gleefully shame-watching faux reality trash that categorically makes me a worse person (The Hills).
Despite there being some crud from hell’s seventh circle being broadcast on an hourly basis, television has also been the bearer of some truly brilliant, entertaining and potentially life-altering programs. Extraordinary creativity, genius writing, phenomenal acting, stunning cinematography… Over the years there’s been a lot of great stuff on tv, but what is the best show of all time in the illustrious history of small screen entertainment?
You guys are pretty smart and seem to know your shit. Let’s do this with a poll: What Is The Best TV Show Of All Time? Cast your vote from our shortlist (compiled in alphabetical order). We wanted to make it as comprehensive as possible without having to include Welcome Back Kotter.
