Need another superhero trailer? Of course you do. Here’s one for the forthcoming Spider-man reboot The Amazing Spider-Man, a 3D origin story helmed by 500 Days Of Summer director Marc Webb based on a script by Zodiac scribe James Vanderbilt and starring likeable IRL couple Andrew Garfield (Never Let Me Go, The Social Network) and Emma Stone (The Help, Easy A, Zombieland), as well as Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Martin Sheen and Sally Field. With great power comes great casting choices!
The film follows a downbeat Peter Parker – web-slinger, purveyor of street justice and apparent chemistry guru – as he courts high school classmate Gwen Stacy (Stone), searches for the truth behind the disappearance of his parents, and solves really complex chemistry problems for his future reptilian nemesis. A feat which is only slightly less believable than high school bullies targeting a dude as handsome and charming as Andrew Garfield. We can’t suspend our disbelief for that one.
