WATCH: ‘Married At First Sight’ Star Jono Swears He’s Not A Total Dick

Yeah, wow, so last night’s episode of ‘Married At First Sight’ was a trainwreck. A trainwreck on top of a car crash on top of a 25-boat pile up.
Not only did embattled couple Clare Verrall and Jono Pitman break up in a blaze of fury, they split mere hours before all four couples met for the first time in an intimate dinner setting.
Things reached peak awkward when the other couples asked – with all the tact of a crowbar trying to wrestle a sponge – what had happened between them; Clare called him a “ghost husband”, while Jono made his 32-year-old ex feel super great when he said the failed experiment didn’t really matter because it wasn’t his “last chance” at love.
Clare blew a fuse, and excused herself to have a cry downstairs. To cut a long, painful episode short – no love lost between those two.
Now their experimental marriage is dunzo, Jono is making known HIS side of the story; Clare has already had her say, telling OK! magazine he was “scouted” to appear on the show “so his reasons for going on the show were probably a little different” i.e. he gave zero fucks about the poor outcome ‘cos it was never serious in his eyes.
Speaking to TODAY, the Aussie battler denied that his infamous declaration new bride Clare “wasn’t what I ordered” when he turned around to greet her on their wedding day was malicious.

“That actually wasn’t going through my head… I wasn’t disappointed, I was wrapped… but just not normally what I’d go for.”

In the longer version of the interview, Jono’s mum denies that he’s a Mummy’s Boy because she still does his laundry, and Jono copped to “seeing someone” romantically – and a girl he knew before filming kicked off.
For her part, Clare continues to document her feels on Instagram, posting a video in which she bemoaned a sitcho where you’re “ugly crying like a 5 year old & sit next to your ex who you can’t stand”… on national TV.
The other three couples are going great guns, though, so there’s that.
