WATCH: Johnny Depp Out-Depps Himself, Stars As Trump In Unreal New Biopic

Funny Or Die’s unveiling of a 50-minute Donald Trump biopic / pisstake is utterly paradoxical, because it’s the most unlikely thing you’d ever expect Johnny Depp to star in; somehow, that also makes it the most likely thing you’d ever see Johnny Depp in.

The film, nominally a retelling of Trump’s very real book The Art Of The Deal, is a hellish comedown repackaged as a faux 80’s straight-to-VHS deal. Looking at the screen is almost difficult, because seeing a cake-faced Depp alongside Ron Howard, Alfred Molina, Stephen Merchant, Patton Oswalt and Jack McBrayer in the these circumstances is obscene.
The next stage of lunacy in this whole saga is the knowledge that the film’s production, including Depp’s involvement, was kept under wraps for so bloody long, without the outside world even getting a hint of the madness being cooked up. The New York Times reports the film was slapped together in the past two months, and it shows: references to Trump’s seemingly unstoppable campaign abound in between the movie’s surreal detours.
Just judging from what we know about Trump IRL, maybe this odd slice of instant internet history more accurately represents his psyche than we’d like to admit. Anyway, you can watch it right now here – please do so. We want to make sure it’s a real thing, and that we haven’t completely exhausted our sanity.

If that’s just too much, peep the trailer below:
