This is it: the most concrete information we’ve got to date on Interstellar, director Christopher Nolan‘s follow-up to The Dark Knight trilogy.

The first trailer, released late last year, featured a bunch of old new footage and a fairly oblique voiceover about destiny. But in this latest peek at the film, we learn quite a few new details: it involves Planet Earth running out of food and Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway (aka Little Alien Annie) travelling through space in a rocket built by Michael Caine‘s daughter to distant solar systems in search of mankind’s new home.
Other pertinent details: Matthew McConaughey tells his daughter he’ll come home (possible time travel?); there’s a shot of the astronauts in some kind of underwater sleep bath (possible cryostasis?); the trailer begins with McConaughey pointing out an Indian surveillance drone in ‘Merican skies as an illustration of how bad things have got (possible undercurrent of xenophobia?).
Interstellar premieres in November.
