Warner Bros Reportedly Working On A Glorious ‘Adventure Time’ Movie

Jake the Dog and Finn the Human—and Princess Bubblegum, Ice King, Lumpy Space Princess, Marceline the Vampire Queen, Earl of Lemongrab and Boobafina—may very well be extending their absurdly entertaining finesse to the big screen, according to Deadline

We can’t definitively say if this is, or is not, a drill, people; but the report from Deadline does make things seem pretty promising. *Wildly raises hopes, crosses fingers, takes a day-long nap to settle down*.

Deadline reports (without any mention of “allegedly” or “rumoured” in sight) that Warner Bros will be taking on Cartoon Network’s extremely successful comedy animation ‘Adventure Time’ by Pendleton Ward to make a feature-length epic. Turning an animated TV series can be a helluva success (CC: The Simpsons, Futurama, TMNT) but it can often be a cringe-worthy pursuit (CC: everything else). But if any animated series could lend itself to the big screen, allowing surreal fantasy and off-kilter comedy the room to play out in 90 minutes, ‘Adventure Time’ would surely be it.

While Deadline claims that Chris Mckay and Roy Lee (‘The Lego Movie’ and ‘The Lego Batman Movie’) will be on board to produce the film, there’s been no official confirmation from Warner Bros, Cartoon Network or Pendleton Ward. There’s also no release date or any tangible insight into what the movie might be about, but, nevertheless:

KEEN.
