The first photos of Kristen Stewart as Princess Diana in the upcoming film Spencer have been revealed and holy shit, she has nailed it.
I won’t lie, when Twilight alum Kristen Stewart was announced to play Princess Di, I did not have high hopes. Don’t get me wrong, she was an icon as Bella Swan, but she just didn’t give me any Princess Di vibes.
But I guess I’ll have to eat my damn shoe because the resemblance in these photos is uncanny. I’m not exaggerating when I say I thought this was an actual photo of Diana upon first glance.

But to make it even more exciting, the film’s director is convinced that she’s going to absolutely nail the role.
“Kristen is one of the great actors around today. To do this well, you need something very important in film, which is mystery,” director Pablo Larraín told Deadline previously.
“Kristen can be many things, and she can be very mysterious and very fragile and ultimately very strong as well, which is what we need. The combination of those elements made me think of her.”
Unlike The Crown, which covers years of time in royal history, Spencer focusses on one specific weekend in Diana’s life – the one during which she realised her marriage was over.
It all takes place over one Christmas weekend in the 90s, so we can likely expect to see a bunch of iconic 90s Diana fashion moments, a whole lot of drama and probably Prince Charles being shit.
Honestly, pass the popcorn because I cannot wait.
