Wahlberg And Diddy Bet Huge Money On The Mayweather-Pacquiao Fight

As you may perhaps have heard, there’s a fairly significant fight happening soon, which is causing boxing enthusiasts the world over to lose their shit and blubber like infants in anticipation – on May 2 in Las Vegas, Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao will meet in the ring and trade blows until one emerges victorious.
Mayweather, who was recently denied entry into Australia thanks to his domestic violence convictions, is undefeated in his professional career, with 47 wins. Pacquiao has 57 wins under his belt. They are both very well compensated – Mayweather earned $US 105 million last year, and Pacquiao earned $US 41.8 million, which is a lot less, but still pretty good, hey.
That said, the fight will rake in a lot of money. Per reports in Forbes, seats at the MGM Grand, the venue for the fight, will run fans between $1500 and $7000, while the pay-per-view rights are expected to bring in somewhere in the neighbourhood of $300 million worldwide.
As you can imagine, wealthy people the world over are also very keen to get in on the action. In fact, per the same report in Forbes, Mark Wahlberg and P Diddy have a wager going, for an amount worth roughly half your house. LOL, j/k, you don’t even have one of those!
It all started late last week when Wahlberg reached out to Diddy via Instagram, the preferred social network of rich dicks, about a wager on the outcome. Diddy suggested $100,000, but Wahlberg scoffed at that amount, and upped the ante to $250,000. FWIW, Marky Mark is team Pacman, while Diddy is going for Mayweather.
You may now continue regularly scheduled Monday drudgery as you imagine having that kind of obscene wealth to splash around.
The fight can be seen in Australia on Sunday May 3 from 11am.
