Gotta respect the hustle. After smacking down Manny Pacquiao in a fight so controversial the Philippines government has called for a review, Jeff Horn has called for a bout with Floyd Mayweather himself.
Appearing on Channel Nine’s NRL Footy Show, the 29-year-old said that the highly unlikely fight with Mayweather would be his dream. “It is definitely a fight that I want,” he said.
“Whether it’s a fight that I will get is another question. He’s definitely the highest paid athlete in our sport […] to get a fight with him would be massive.”
“Why not when I’ve already fought someone like Manny Pacquiao.”
I stress that this would be supremely unlikely to happen. Mayweather’s next fight is with MMA hero Conor McGregor – who is absolutely not a boxer and is almost guaranteed to get creamed. This tweet puts it very succinctly.
Conor vs Mayweather will once and for all settle that classic debate: Who is the best at boxing? A professional boxer or someone else

If Mayweather wins – which he almost certainly will – and collects another $100M+ payday, you’ve gotta wonder what the benefit hauling ass down to Suncorp Stadium to fight Jeff Horn would be. But then again, stranger things have happened.
Shortly after his fight against Pacquiao, Horn called out Mayweather while holding a cane in one hand and boxing gloves in the other. “One thing first — this is just having a bit of a dig overseas to Floyd Mayweather — this is no joke, which one does he want? The walking stick or the gloves? Come have a real fight.”
Horn also addressed Pacquaio’s support of the Philippines government’s calls for a review into the scoring of the fight, claiming that he thought it was more from his camp than the man himself.
I don’t actually believe that would be Pacquiao actually even saying that himself. Maybe it is his team around him. But Pacquiao seemed very humble in the way that he lost and thought the decision was correct […] I am ready for a rematch. If he wants to come back and do it again, we will do it. That’s up to him, he’s got the option.
There we go. For now, he’s still Australia’s King of Sport for a lil’ bit longer. To celebrate that, here’s Alan Jones repeatedly chanting the word ‘Horny’.
